Glass Penguin by Crystal Stubbs (large0019)

This cute hand-sculpted and unique solid glass Penguin was created by Crystal Stubbs in her Gippsland studio. It has been personally signed by the artist on the base.

Crystal Stubbs is an Australian born glass artist based in country Victoria. She produces hot solid formed glass sculpture’s that are figuratively based.
Crystal graduated from Monash University with an Honors degree in 2001 and worked for many different glass blowing studios in the proceeding four year’s. In 2003 she received a Monash University Fellowship in the Glass Studies area.

In 2005 Crystal won 3rd place in the Sculpture section of the prestigious Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize and in 2009 received a highly commended.  She has been a scholarship recipient at Pilchuck Glass School twice where she studied under Dino Rosin and Pino Signoretto.

Crystal exhibits new work regularly and has been represented at SOFA Chicago by Kirra Gallery for the past six year’s. She demonstrated at the SOFA Chicago exhibition in November 2009.
Crystal runs her own glass blowing studio in East Gippsland where she lives with her husband, son and daughter.
